Stories of our forest and lakeshore.

In the summer of 1912 William J. Egloff, M.D. traveled with his family from their home in Mason City, Iowa  to Park Rapids, Minnesota.  He found land on the south shore of Fish Hook Lake which he liked so much that he bought it and made  plans to return the following summer to clear a site for a summer cottage.  After 100 years his descendants still visit.

This blog will explore some of what has transpired between 1912 and 2012. I’ll add pages above of what I know or think I know about the place.  I invite you to add your comments. Also send me your stories and/or pictures and I’ll post them.
